What is Majicko?

What is Majicko?

Majicko is the latest PHP-based dynamic content management system (as of its release on Aug 12, 2007). Majicko is prized for its simplicity when compared to other content management systems that are so complex and difficult to use that one might as well learn how to program.

Majicko's features include:
  • An encrypted user registration/login system
  • A dual-layout photo gallery with perpetual heirarchy category system
  • Easy to use interphase for Blogs, News Updates, FAQs, and external Links
  • Static Page tool for simple non-dynamic pages
  • Built-in search engine and crawler for easier viewer navigation
  • Phrase-based content system for easy updating
  • Function block module manager
  • Easy to use template and layout manager
  • And WAY more!
Majicko's user registration system incorporates the single most secure encryption methods short of having a secure socket layer on your site. Site admin can freely turn user registration on and off at will, choosing when new members can register and when membership must be shut down.

Website admin can choose whether or not to allow users to upload their own photos. The photo gallery has two separate layouts that users can choose from. Photos can be categorized and sub-categorized into a heirarchy that will go as deep as the site admin wants it to go.

The external link system manages links to other sites allowed by admin. Every time a link is clicked, the click is documented and counted. Clicks by most search engine crawlers are ignored. Links with the most clicks appear at the top of the list in their respective categories. Most scripts that count clicks in this way are not given search engine points for reciprocal linking. Majicko's external link system uses AJAX to accommodate both click counting and reciprocal linking at the same time.

The static page system is fairly straight forward and easy to use. The admin panel gives the options of selecting what content appears on the page, the page title, descriptions, any code that needs to be in the head, and even whether or not the page should be secured for members only.

Majicko is a massive content management system despite it ease of use. For its first release, we expect Majicko to ease its way into the website industry.
